The filings and fundamentals market, compared
On 2026-10-16 we opened the pricing page of every filings-and-fundamentals tool an AI agent can call, and priced Conduit against the field. This post is the survey, the verdict, and the parts we lose — published because a comparison you cannot check is just advertising.
How we compared
Every price below comes from the vendor's own pricing page, opened on 2026-10-16 and linked in the table. Prices change; check the link before you hold us — or them — to a number. We compared on the questions a builder actually asks: can an agent call it over MCP, what does the entry paid tier cost, what does the free tier really give, where does the data come from, and — the question most pricing pages answer in fine print — are you allowed to build a business on it?
The field
| Product | MCP for agents | Entry paid tier | Free tier | The catch |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Conduit (us) | Yes — hosted, 24 tools | Pro $58/mo — 100,000 calls/mo | 100 calls/day, recurring | US filings and fundamentals only |
| Wisesheets | Yes — hosted MCP, even on free | ≈$15/mo billed annually — 80,000 req/mo | 5,000 req/mo | Self-serve plans are individual-use; commercial use is custom Enterprise pricing |
| Financial Modeling Prep | Yes — official MCP, key passthrough | $22/mo billed annually | 250 calls/day | Aggregator data; display and redistribution need a separate licence |
| Financial Datasets | Yes — MCP-native | $200/mo Personal — 100,000 req/mo | None | Business use requires Professional, from $2,000/mo |
| EODHD | Yes — official MCP | Fundamentals $59.99/mo | 20 calls/day | Standard plans are personal-use; commercial terms sit on higher tiers |
| Massive (formerly Polygon) | Partial — open-source, self-hosted | Stocks from $29/mo; financials add-on $29/mo | 5 calls/min, EOD | A market-data platform first; filings are a secondary dataset |
| Alpha Vantage | Yes — official MCP | $49.99/mo premium | 25 req/day | Fundamentals are a small part of a broad aggregator catalogue |
| SEC-API.io | No MCP | $49/mo billed annually | 100 calls, one time | Deepest filing tooling in the field — but you build the agent layer yourself |
| Intrinio | Yes — official MCP | $150/mo Individual | Trial only | Business and display licence starts at $333/mo |
| Tiingo | No MCP | $30/mo Power; $50/mo Commercial | Genuinely usable Starter tier | Prices first; fundamentals are secondary |
A second group sells the pipe, not the data: Composio, Zapier MCP, and Pipedream Connect give agents governed access to thousands of apps. If that is your problem, they are the comparison — but none of them brings financial data with the pipe. Conduit sells one governed connector with the data inside it.
Where Conduit is genuinely ahead
Business use, self-serve, at $58. Read the fine print in the table. Wisesheets' low prices are individual-use — commercial use is a custom quote. Financial Datasets reserves business use for a plan starting at $2,000 a month. Intrinio's business licence starts at $333. Conduit's $58 Pro tier is priced for builders shipping products, commercial use included, no sales call.
Governance ships in the base product. Every Conduit key carries its own budget, per-call caps, and tool allowlist, checked before a call runs. No rival in the data group publishes per-key budget controls at any tier; the SLAs and governance features that do exist sit on enterprise plans. If your agent can spend money, the control belongs on the key — not in a contract add-on.
A free tier an agent can actually live on. 100 calls a day, every day, self-service in one call. That beats 25 a day (Alpha Vantage), 20 a day (EODHD), 100 calls once, ever (SEC-API.io), and no free tier at all (Financial Datasets). Only Wisesheets gives more for free.
First-source data, and an SLA you can watch. Conduit reads SEC EDGAR directly — the first source, not an aggregator's extraction — and every result carries freshness metadata. The 48-hour freshness SLA is backed by a public status page, so you verify it instead of trusting it.
Where Conduit loses — genuine feedback
Wisesheets is ahead of us, and it is not close on distribution. Same EDGAR provenance story, MCP included free, cheaper headline prices, a large existing spreadsheet user base, and a claimed filing-to-API latency in minutes against our 48-hour SLA. On freshness and reach, we lose today. Our edge over them is the commercial licence and per-key governance — nothing else, and we won't pretend otherwise.
Our data is narrow. US filings and fundamentals, full stop. The field bundles what a finance agent usually wants next: real-time prices, options, earnings transcripts, 13F, global exchanges, full-text filing search. If you need more than filings, today you will multi-source — or pick a bundle.
We have no brand proof yet. Rivals in this table count customers in the tens of thousands and have operated for a decade. Conduit is new, with listings in the official MCP Registry and the Claude Connectors Directory, and no public customer list. On trust signals alone, we start behind everyone here.
No streaming, bulk, or webhooks. Conduit is request-and-response MCP. Real-time filing streams, flat-file delivery, and webhook pipelines exist elsewhere in this table. Pipeline-shaped buyers are not served yet.
What we would tell a buyer
If you are an individual analysing stocks in a spreadsheet, Wisesheets is probably your buy — it is cheaper and it is good. If you need the deepest EDGAR tooling and have engineers to wrap it, look at SEC-API.io. If you need global prices and everything around the filing, take a bundle.
If you are building a product on an AI agent that reads US filings — and you need commercial rights, a budget on every key, and a price you can read off a page — that is the exact shape Conduit was built for. Start free, 100 calls a day, and judge us on the data.
Survey method: vendor pricing pages opened 2026-10-16; figures summarised from those pages and linked above. Two vendors' tier tables render by script and were cross-checked against multiple sources; Fintel, Smithery, and Glama publish no verifiable pricing and were excluded from numeric claims. Prices and plans change without notice — ours included; this page will be refreshed as they do.
